Hey Cupcake........

Have you Guys seen the new issue of SMALL magazine. So great. As the kids and I  drooled through each page we came across this recipe for the "moist" amazing cupcakes.
Problem.......No cupcake liners. So being the crafty little buggers we are.
We made our own. They turned out pretty good, so I thought I would share.
You will need 24, 5" inch x 5" inch pieces of parchment paper.
The parchment paper I used was 15" inches wide . Easy math yeh!!
a 1/2 cup measuring cup
a glass that fits inside the measuring cup
Center paper over the glass turned on it's end.

Smooth over .

Press measuring cup over glass and paper, wiggle to set.

Put your paper cups in muffin pan. Fill with batter using a ice cream scoop .
They should look like this.
Bake!

 Frost.
I used a ziplock bag with the tip of a bottom corner cut off.
Just fill with frosting and squeeze.

Sprinkle with sugar sprinkles.
EAT!!!
Super Yummy!!!
Sorta cute.

"Robotster" Quilt

Wow!!!  I am finally posting about this cute quilt. I know I gave it a funny name. I have a great reason.

When "TheBoy" was born he recieved a polka dot handmade quilt as a gift. He loved that thing. He took it everywhere. When he started talking he named it "Spotster". When he was 4 he said it had super healing powers. He is now 16 and you can still find it around his room. Even when he swears he does not know how it got there.
Since this quilt is for a very special little guy.And I hope it lasts him for many years to come. "Robotster" it is.

This Robot Fabric is from David Walker for Free Spirit . I used Essex linen in light blue to frame
the little guys.  I love the dog!!

These are Disappearing 9 patch blocks.

I machine quilted some of  the seams and also tied it with 12 strands of floss.
Some white , some rainbow.

This is a little softie toy cube to go with. I sewed some ribbon taggies in the seams.
Should be fun for tossing.

For all you fabric lovers.I know you noticed. There is a little Amy Butler and Heather Bailey in there too.
I hope the lil'guy loves it .  I do!!!

Sunday Morning Orange Rolls

This Morning I had a craving for Orange Rolls. My Mom made the one's in a can when I was little.
I loved them. But, no cans here!!
So, this morning I decided to give my own version a try.. Don't they look yummy!!!

I used the recipe for the dough from this past post .
But, instead of the cinnamon roll filling .

                          I used this filling:

                          1/4 cup butter
                          1/2 cup light brown sugar
                          1/2 cup sugar
The zest from one orange and
                          1 t. orange juice
                          (squeezed from the zested orange)
                          1 t. cardamom

After baking I glazed with this frosting:
                       1 ½ cups powdered sugar
                       2 tablespoons Butter
                       2 tablespoons freshly squeezed
orange juice (reserve from zested oranges)
                       Beat all ingredients .
                       Spread on warm rolls.

These are so good they have to be a SIN. Mr. Moon asked me how many of these one could eat, before they went into a sugar coma? I said........maybe 2 , that would be safe.  He said " I am taking my chances with a third". He lived .
 And we all cheered.

So let's catch up.....

Life is crazy lately. But, I have managed to do a little craftin'....

I taught myself to Granny...................

I am just learning ,so I used left over yarn. I wish I would have used better quality. Oh well. It is still cuddly. 10 down. oh so many to go.....
I patched my CrazyGirl's jeans. She is the only one of my kiddos that wear out the knees of all
her jeans!!!! I used old denim from cut-offs. Heat bond to stick them on. Then hand stitches around the edge. After a good washing the fraying came out. Looks so cute on. Better than new.And her friends love them.

I stitched up some glassine goody bags for the kiddos.
I think they turned out cute.
Well I feel caught up...haha.
Now off to sew ...I hope.
